A few months back we noticed the Food Standards Agency looking for stakeholders to join their ‘Regulating our Future programme Expert Advisory Panel’. The programme is a critical strategic plan for the FSA and central to their ability to fulfil statutory purposes, public expectations and to deliver their future strategic goals. The idea behind the expert advisory panel is to bring stakeholders from across business, government departments and regulators together to form an environment where all points of view can be taken into account.
The FSA were looking for expressions of interest from stakeholders in large, medium, small businesses, consumer organisations, accreditation schemes and local authorities. Given the experience of our Director, Jonathan France, he decided to apply and submit an application for consideration.
Jonathan has an overall passion for Food Safety and fair regulations and has been working in the industry for over 16 years. He’s been an adviser to an international food retailer’s board of Managing Directors for the last 14 years in relation to food safety and hygiene for their full supply chain, personally drafting the current procedures and monitoring systems throughout the business. Jonathan’s current role as Director of Trading Safely Ltd, an Environmental Health and Trading Standards consultancy to the retail, manufacturing and hospitality industries also stood him a great position. He was able to show how his experience in advising SME’s to comply with the law in terms of Health & Safety, Food Safety, Food Labelling and HACCP would be of benefit to this panel and future discussions.
We were told that applications and the interest shown was extremely high so we are even more proud to announce that this week Jonathan was advised that his application had been successful and he has been offered a place on the Expert Advisory Group. This further strengthens Jonathan’s experience in his field and provides more confidence to client’s that when working with Trading Safely, they can expect high levels of knowledge, advice and guidance from a team of industry experts.
It’s a great achievement for Jonathan and a role we know he will excel in.
Good luck Jonathan and we look forward to hearing more!
